Exporting Business Listings

The following is the procedure to use to export current business listings for either analysis or do updates and re-import.

  • Go to Export
  • Choose "Specific Post Type" (usually default selected)
  • Find "Businesses"
  • Select "Customize Export File"
  • If you have a template available use "Business Directory Export" otherwise if you need to create manually see instructions below the tutorial video
  • If you want to check what your download will look like check "Preview"
  • You have various "Advanced Options" you can choose from, select -
    • Tick "Include BOM" in export file (this will mean it won't muck up the e in cafe!)
    • Select any others you wish (usually leave rest unticked)
    • Change the export name if you wish
  • Save and Run Export
  • This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the file
  • Download | choose CSV
  • Open your CSV
  • DO NOT convert as this will muck up your phone numbers

Open your Business-Listings-Upload-Template and insert all lines at the top of your business listings exported document. This will just make it easier for you to know which columns are essential, optional or not required in any changes you make.

You will then be able to make changes/additions as CSV/ Excel or convert.
