Facebook Post Sharing Procedure
You will have a number of profile options to share from but make sure the profile you are sharing from is relevant for the area targeted, eg if sharing a Hamilton post link only share as your own personal profile, as Linku2 School Holidays or as Linku2 Waikato. Same scenario if you are sharing a giveaways prize post to perhaps the rest of New Zealand sheet only share as either your personal profile or as Linku2 School Holidays.
Your first share may take approx 2-3 mins to complete but any subsequent shares of the same post with the same copied post content should take less than 1 to 1 1/2 mins, particularly if shared via desktop.
NOTES
- Note the main point of our sharing is to drive traffic to our site link (or client tracked link) therefore it is essential to always ensure your post includes that specific link from the original post (this should be automatic in most shares but not in video shares (see below)
- Post content for sharing will be added to the sheets regularly as posts publish and the latest post will be first with the older posts going down the pecking order but can still be shared all holidays if some of the others seem to be a bit "overshared".
- Also note when sharing a video post, the video is not a link - therefore it is essential you include the link to the LU2 School Holidays (or other) in the post content box in the share.
- The first post might take you 2-3 minutes to set up but then repeating and sharing to other groups should take less than 1-2 minutes each including tagging in the business if you are able.
Sharing via Desktop (this is the easiest option) -
- In Facebook First, make sure you are in the profile you would like to share from
- Open sheets app, go to the relevant sharing schedule for these holidays and go to specific sheet you are going to share from (eg North Shore, Waikato, etc)
- At the top of the page find the post you want to share
- First copy the content to add into your share
- Then click on the link and open the post you are going to share
- Click on the share button in the post and choose the option "share to a group"
- You can then either share one of two ways depending on your preference, either -
- Check the list of groups that pops up for the profile you are in and find the first group you think you would like to share to, then before you click on the group name ...
- Go back to the sheets tab, click on the box both below the post link you are sharing and horizontal to the group name
- Then scroll horizontally and see what else has been shared to that group and by whom and on what dates (to avoid anything too close or clashes)
- If there's been nothing for at least three days by that profile and in that group, then you can put your date and initials/profile name into that sheet box (if you are sharing as the page profile also ensure you put your own intials as well as the profile initials (eg 23/12 - sh - sc (meaning date - profile shared from (school holidays) - person who was logged in as LU2 School Holidays (Sarah Carr) so we can credit the share to you personally for payments)
- Then go back to the Facebook post list of groups and click on the group name to complete the share
- Alternatively if you're not sure which group you want to post to -
- You can select a group name first from the sheets list
- Check to see any share won't clash
- Then search to see if it's an option to share under the profile you are using
- Again if there's been nothing for at least three days by that profile, then you can put your date and initials/profile name into that sheet box (and again if you are sharing as the page profile also ensure you put your own intials as well as the profile initials (eg 23/12 - sh - sc (meaning date - profile shared from (school holidays) - person who was logged in as LU2 School Holidays (Sarah Carr) so we can credit the share to you personally for payments)
- Then go back to the Facebook post list of groups and click on the group name to complete the share
- Then paste the post content you copied from the sheet
- If you can tag in the client
- Before you share just check if the original post content appears to automatically be included just put a short comment instead of pasting it all again, eg check out holiday fun with (name tagged if possible) ...
- Once you share this will take you back to your post so click again on the share button and
- Repeat this process and again paste the post content from your original post for a maximum of 6 shares for the single post in the same region sheet.
Sharing via Mobile -
- If you are sharing via mobile please note this will take you longer
- Follow the same procedure as above except once you get to go back to the Facebook post list of groups and click on the group name you will need to -
- Click on the 3 hamburger dots and "Share link only"
- You will then paste your post content you copied from the sheet
- Again remember though, before you hit the share button check if the original post content appears to automatically be included just put a short comment instead of pasting it all again, eg check out holiday fun with (name tagged if possible) ...
- Once you share this will take you back to your post so click again on the share button and
- Repeat this process and again paste the post content from your original post for a maximum of 6 shares for the single post in the same region sheet.
Potential Issues
Both in desktop and particularly in mobile view the screen may be too small for you to view the groups with the frozen panes in force. In this case you will need to "unfreeze" the columns and possible rows too in order to free up screen space. This can make it harder for you to track which post you are sharing to which group hence the recommendation to use desktop whereever possible for this task.
